Cairns Hospital C Block Theatres 1–8 Electrical Upgrades

GMH Solutions completed Patient Area Electrical upgrades and compliance in accordance with the Patient Area Electrical Standards of AS/NZS 3003:2018 and Australian Electrical Standards of AS/NZS 3000:2018, with lighting upgrades as per the appropriate standards being Interior Workplace Lighting – Hospitals AS/NZS 1680.2.5.GMH completed Patient Area Electrical upgrades and compliance in accordance with AS/NZS 3000:2018.
Problem
Lighting, power and specialist medical pendant systems within the C Block Theatres were deteriorating with age, becoming difficult for the staff to use and Building Management to properly maintain.
Our solution
Queensland Health’s Building Management department requested us to provide a suitable DALI, LED lighting solution to match the existing ceiling structure and room geometry whilst upgrading the electrical systems within each Theatre. Each Theatre was carefully inspected, reviewing all systems thoroughly, and a lighting design was provided to Eagle Lighting who created a set of custom lights specifically for the project. Our team worked closely with Draeger Medical to upgrade the rooms electrically, and assisted with installing electrical and data systems for the new medical pendants.
